Public Emergency, Enforced Isolation

The COVID-19 outbreak is declared a global pandemic by World Health Organization (WHO). Alberta declares a public health emergency. Restrictions on mass gathering and businesses are now legally enforceable and subject to fines.

The City of Wetaskiwin declares a state of local emergency in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

First Confirmed Case

The City of Wetaskiwin issues a joint press release with the County of Wetaskiwin addressing the first confirmed regional case of COVID-19.

Late Fee / Disconnect Freeze

Wetaskiwin City Council voted to postpone all water disconnects at this time. No late fees will be applied to outstanding utility payments as well. City Council will re-assess this by June 30, 2020.
